Building skills that support greater independence.
A successful service dog partnership starts with the right foundation: a suitable dog, clear communication, and training built around the handler’s individual needs.
At Paws Unleashed USA, we help develop reliable skills through structured training, real-world practice, and handler education.
We assess your dog’s temperament, confidence, response to distractions, and current training to help determine whether service dog work is an appropriate path.
Developing reliable leash manners, recall, sit, down, stay, and the ability to settle calmly.
Practicing appropriate behavior around people, other animals, unfamiliar sounds, and everyday distractions, with an emphasis on focus and control.
Establishing training goals for specific tasks that help address the handler’s disability-related needs. Task options are discussed during the evaluation.
Teaching you how to communicate with your dog, reinforce trained behaviors, and maintain your progress at home and in daily life.
Every dog and handler team is different. We’ll discuss your goals, evaluate your dog, and explain the recommended next steps. Suitability and progress determine the training path; not every dog is suited for service work.
